Micro-needling, a process also known as skin needling, is a procedure using a device covered in tiny, shallow needles that is used to poke tiny holes in the skins surface. The holes made by the needling device are therapeutic, since they cause a ‘micro injury’ which prompts the skin to stimulate collagen production, filling in fine lines and plumping out the skin.
A LITTLE ABOUT MICRONEEDLING?
Here at Eterno Aesthetics we use the Derma FNS™, an innovative electronic microneedling device that uses multiple needles to vertically pierce the skin to create vertical channels which are designed to achieve the same effect as those created by fractional lasers, stimulating the dermal processes leading to skin tightening and remodelling, with minimal epidermal damage. The act of needling the skin the skin triggers the release of serum growth factors which stimulate the breakdown of old fibrous collagen and stimulate new collagen and elastin development.
Microneedling is used to help with skin tightening, lifting and rejuvenation, acne scars and wound healing, improving wrinkles and fine lines, minimising pore size and improving stretch marks.
A mesotherapy solution, a special cocktail of nutrients such as hyaluronic acid, vitamins, minerals and amino-acids can also be needled into the skin to significantly boost its appearance.
For best results at least three sessions is recommended and case is individual. It all depends on the quality of your skin and the level of damage as to how many sessions are required. An at home skin care regime is highly recommended to achieve better results. View our Microneedling FAQs
