HArmonyCa™ is new dual-effect hybrid Injectable, combining hyaluronic acid (HA) with calcium hydroxyapatite (CaHA) to restore collagen production and stimulate fibroblasts for a long-lasting, lifting effect.
Loss of volume and poor soft-tissue structural support are common forms of facial ageing. However, most single-agent dermal filler / biostimulator injections are unable to individually provide the combined benefits of a hyaluronic acid for an immediate lifting effect and lasting collagen stimulation from calcium hydroxyapatite.
Supporting the body’s own collagen production, HArmonyCa™ works deep within the dermis to form a scaffold for internal growth of fibroblasts, helping to produce collagen fibres as early as 1 week after injection.
A fibroblast is a cell found in connective tissue that supports and connects other tissues or organs in the body. The specialised cells secrete collagen proteins that provide your skin with a structural framework. Making up the main cellular population of the dermis, the decline in fibroblast numbers / functional activity causes ageing over time.
So, the cells slowly lose their regenerative capabilities, less collagen is produced and your skin loses its elasticity and youthful integrity. Fine lines and sagging skin develop, causing features such as the cheeks and jawline to lose definition. HArmonyCA™, Allergan’s first hybrid Dermal Filler, helps to reverse signs of ageing by activating fibroblast receptors thereby stimulating collagen production.
Juvéderm is the UK’s most popular brand of Dermal Filler, so Allergan knows a thing or two about creating effective hyaluronic acid-based gels! Like other products within their remit, HArmonyCa™ contains a high molecular weight cross-linked HA solution that adds instant volume to sunken facial features. Linking HA molecules makes the substance more challenging to break down, prolonging its contouring effect.
HArmonyCa™ allows the mid and lower face to be completely enhanced, restoring firmness and providing subtle definition whereby features have softened due to sagging skin.
The addition of calcium hydroxyapatite also provides a secondary anti-ageing benefit. CaHa microspheres directly activate fibroblast cells. This induces neocollagenesis, which improves the structural support within connective tissue. As collagen levels rise, fine lines appear reduced and the complexion feels supple and lifted. Hyaluronic acid particles work deep within the skin, where they help to ‘plump it up’ for an immediate lift effect.
Moreover, calcium hydroxyapatite particles support the body’s own collagen production, so new collagen fibres start to grow. As the gel slowly disappears over time, a firm and dense collagen network is built in its place for a gradual, long-lasting lift from calcium hydroxyapatite. The clinical effects of CaHA can last 1 - 3 years.

HArmonyCa™ can be injected under the skin in the deep dermal and sub-dermal layers in certain areas of the face, and cannot be injected around the eyes, the lips or around the mouth. During your consultation, your we’ll discuss your concerns and suggest which facial areas can be treated with HArmonyCa™.

During your consultation, we will advise you on what you should do before and after your treatment with HArmonyCa™. For instance, after your treatment, you should avoid any high-intensity exercise or activities, exposure to sunlight, tanning beds or extreme weather conditions for 24 hours
As with most injectable skin treatments there may be some redness, swelling and irritation. Apply an ice pack or cold compresses to the treated areas for 24 hours in order to reduce. Massage the treated areas if you feel any small bumps.
Pre treatment, we’ll discuss when it is suitable for you to resume everyday activities. Normally, you will need to wait 24 hours after your treatment with HArmonyCa™ before doing high-intensity exercise or activities.
We’ll advise if there are other treatments you should use alongside HArmonyCa™ when creating your personalised treatment plan. The safety and efficacy of the product has not yet been evaluated in patients treated with other filling implants or dermal therapies.
During your consultation, you will be advised if you’d benefit from treatment with HArmonyCa™. This treatment can only be used in certain areas of the face, so, depending on your specific concerns, we will be able to decide whether it is a suitable treatment for you.
As with other injectable treatments, the most common side effects after injection with HArmonyCa™ include redness, swelling, pain, tenderness and itching. These are often mild, and typically get better within 24 - 48 hours, while swelling may take up to a week to completely go away.
Applying ice packs or cold compresses to the treated areas for 24 hours after treatment can help to reduce redness, swelling and irritation. It is also possible that you may feel small bumps under the skin in the injected areas. If this happens, make sure to massage the skin in these areas. There are other, less common side effects with HArmonyCa™, which we will be able to discuss with you during your consultation.
