HArmonyCa™

Juvéderm is the UK’s most popular brand of Dermal Filler, so Allergan knows a thing or two about creating effective hyaluronic acid-based gels. Like other products within their remit, HArmonyCa™ contains a potent hyaluronic acid (HA) solution that adds instant volume to sunken facial features. Linking HA molecules makes the product more challenging to break down, prolonging its contouring effect. HArmonyCa™ allows the mid and lower face to be completely enhanced, restoring firmness and providing subtle definition whereby features have softened due to sagging skin. The addition of calcium hydroxyapatite also provides a secondary anti-ageing benefit. CaHa microspheres directly activate fibroblast cells. This induces neocollagenesis, which improves the structural support within connective tissue. As collagen levels rise, fine lines appear reduced and the complexion feels supple and lifted. Therefore, this powerful hybrid dermal filler provides instant results that improve in line with rising collagen levels.

After treatment, you will notice an immediate lifting effect from the hyaluronic acid which diffuses between collagen fibres of the lower dermal layer. Following treatment, the calcium hydroxyapatite works deep within the dermis to kick-start the growth of fibroblasts that form new collagen fibres in as little as one week after injection, creating a firm collagen framework within the skin long after the hyaluronic acid is broken down. This provides a lifting and tightening effect for up to 19 months following treatment.

HArmonyCa® contains 0.3% lidocaine hydrochloride, an anaesthetic, to reduce pain during treatment. But as with all treatments, pain tolerance can vary between patients.

HArmonyCa® has minimal downtime, with most patients able to resume their normal activities immediately after the procedure. Temporary side effects like mild swelling, redness, bruising, or tenderness may occur, but typically subside within 2-5 days. It’s recommended to avoid intense exercise and excessive sun exposure for the first 24 hours.

We recommend this as a complementary treatment alongside filler for patients who are experiencing accordion lines (vertical wrinkles between the ears and lips), lack of firmness or sagging skin, lost volume in the cheeks and mid-face, and mild-to-moderate jowls.

You will see the best results from HArmonyCa® as a combination therapy. For example, it works particularly well when combined with filler to support the skin’s structure, as traditional dermal filler works on different levels of the skin and has different properties and outcomes.
