Lumecca

Reversing sun damage and skin pigmentation, one Lumecca treatment at a time. With just three sessions, most clients see a dramatic improvement in clarity, brightness, and dark spots. It's perfect for post-summer skin recovery, pigmentation, or undoing years of sun exposure.

what is Lumecca?

This is one of the most transformative treatments we offer for reducing concerns such as age spots, rosacea, thread veins, and acne scarring in a natural, non-invasive way.

Lumecca is one of the most powerful intense pulsed light (IPL) treatments and can be used on all areas of the body. The most common are those regularly exposed to the sun, which typically include the face, neck, décolletage, legs, hands and arms.

With 1–3 treatments, you should start to notice significant improvements in the clarity of your skin, and we have handpieces providing differing wavelength spectrums to allow for safe treatment of darker skin types.

How can you get better results from your treatments? Try layering. When you combine skin therapies like Lumecca and a Hydrafacial treatment in a single session, your skin gets the whole package of gentle cleansing, exfoliation and restoration for a fantastic skin glow-up.

If you want to improve your skin tone, even out your complexion, and gain a more revitalised glow, speak with our team to learn more about all the benefits of adding Lumecca to your favourite facial treatments.

Lumecca improves the appearance of age spots, sun damage, rosacea, freckles, uneven skin tone, pigmentation, and vascular lesions such as thread veins, spider veins, port wine stains, and telangiectasia. It can be stacked with treatments such as Hydrafacial for added restoration and an instant glow or Morepheus8 to further target signs of ageing.

It’s important to avoid direct/prolonged sun exposure, as well as all forms of UV tanning, for a minimum of 1 month after treatment and 2 weeks before, which is why we recommend booking Lumecca in the autumn, winter and early spring.

During the treatment, there will be bright flashes of light that create an elastic-like sensation. Redness and a slight warming of the skin are normal post-procedure, and this typically subsides within around an hour.

Over the next 24 – 48 hours, you may notice darkening of pigmented spots, and in the following weeks, lesions can flake off, promoting a more even skin tone. After treating vascular lesions, you may spot veins that blanch and disappear, or a colour change across your complexion, which will fade in the following few days.

Improvements can be achieved after the first treatment. After three sessions, most clients see a dramatic improvement in clarity, brightness, and dark spots, without any downtime. The amount of treatments we recommend will depend on the severity of damage, your skin type, concerns (vascular lesions vs sun exposure, etc), and the energy settings we are able to use.

Changes can typically start to be seen a few days after your first session. The skin will continue to look clearer and more vibrant over time, with the most notable results experienced after 1–2 weeks. Multiple Lumecca sessions will improve the outcome, and for vascular treatments such as facial telangiectasias, improvements should be enhanced at around 2 weeks.

Most patients do not experience side effects. Common skin reactions, such as redness, usually resolve within a few hours. Patients may find they are sensitive to sunlight immediately after treatment, and it’s highly recommended to avoid direct sunlight/tanning for 1 month after treatment. A thorough consultation will be carried out at our Sheffield-based skin clinic to answer any questions, and you will receive an aftercare email post-treatment.

Acne & Scars

In addition to treating acne, Lumecca enhances microcirculation, strengthens the immune system, and benefits skin tone and stiffness. Lumecca IPL is also proven to remove acne scarring and melasma.

Age spots

Lumecca uses a special type of light called intense pulsed light (IPL) to rejuvenate the skin. It’s like a magic wand that can help make the skin look fresher and healthier. It can target areas with skin discolouration, such as age spots or sunspots, and make them fade away.

Thread Veins

Lumecca IPL Photofacial or photo rejuvenation is an effective, non-invasive way to treat and reduce mild sun damage, brown spots, broken capillaries and irregular pigmentation on the face, neck and chest. It uses intense flashes of light that penetrate deep below the skin’s surface to break down pigment and target haemoglobin (for capillaries) and melanin-producing cells.

Dullness

A Hydrafacial deeply cleanses, exfoliates, and rejuvenates the skin. Combining this with Lumecca ensures your skin is nourished and hydrated before your IPL session. This pairing is particularly effective for achieving a radiant glow.

Before any skin treatment, a consultation is essential. This dedicated time allows for an in-depth conversation around your desired results, an assessment of your skin, and a tailored recommendation on the most suitable method for your skin type and lifestyle.

A skin scan is carried out to ensure we deeply analyse your complexion, and everything from maintenance to aftercare is discussed in detail. It’s a considered, personalised approach that ensures results are not only beautiful, but lasting.

We take a fully refundable deposit of £50 for all our consultations. Your deposit can be refunded in the clinic or redeemed against our treatments or products purchased after the consultation.
