Skin Peels

Chemical skin peels can target a number of common concerns, including acne scarring, hyperpigmentation, wrinkles, uneven skin tone, dullness, premature ageing, congestion, and a generally tired-looking complexion, rejuvenating and restoring a healthy glow.

Chemical Skin Peels For Smoother Skin

We offer a range of skin peels that can be adapted to the best formulation for your individual skin type, condition, lifestyle, and according to what you would like the treatment to achieve.

Chemical skin peels go beyond surface exfoliation by providing dermal and epidermal stimulation and supporting skin renewal. If you have a skin concern such as pigmentation, sun damage, acne, flaky skin, ageing skin or fine lines and wrinkles, a cosmeceutical treatment such as a skin peel can help to remove dull, unhealthy skin cells and boost the creation of healthy cells underneath.

We provide a variety of peel strengths and depths to best suit your needs from some of the industry’s leading brands.

Why eterno aesthetics?

At Eterno Aesthetics, our experienced and highly qualified skin therapists understand that skin care is not a one-size-fits-all approach. We tailor each treatment to the individual to ensure the best, most natural results.

Our treatments are often a blend of tailored approaches, and we provide personalised care from the moment you come in for a consultation. This doesn’t just stop after your treatment. We offer free ongoing advice whenever questions arise.

The number of peels you need depends on your skin condition, the results you wish to achieve and the amount of down time you are looking for. We can perform stand-alone peels such as our ZO Stimulator Peel, which is great for special events to get a skin pick me up and decongest as and when. If there is a specific skin concern, we may suggest our deeper 3 Step Peel where we advise a course of 1-3 treatments depending on the severity of the condition. The skin needs to be prepared for this and expect some down time, too.

Chemical peels do sting a little, but do not cause a huge amount of pain. There is very mild irritation, but you should not worry about experiencing unbearable levels of discomfort. Your tolerance is generally built up over time, but you should always speak to your skin therapist openly about what you can and cannot tolerate.

The peels we offer at Eterno Aesthetics are minimally invasive, therefore your skin isn’t going to peel off excessively.

The exfoliation and skin cell regeneration achieved with our chemical peels are permanent. However, your skin completely turns over about every 27 days (this cycle slows as we age), so you’re continually replenishing new skin.

Results from a chemical peel depend greatly on your skin care routine. The better the routine, and the less sun exposure to the area treated, the longer your results will be able to be maintained. Since the effects of ageing on skin are unavoidable, we recommend 2-3 maintenance peels per year.

Recovery time will vary depending on the depth and intensity of the treatment.

Light peels usually take up to seven days to heal. During this time, you can expect your face to peel and appear sunburnt, and some patients experience redness for up to a month. Most patients who have a light peel can usually wear makeup the next day to cover any redness.

Medium peels may induce some swelling, which can be soothed with ice packs. We’ll apply protective products for dryness, and you may take over-the-counter pain medications for any discomfort. Recovery time from a medium peel is usually 7-14 days, and you can begin to apply cosmetics after 5-7 days.

Redness from a light peel usually subsides within a couple of weeks, while redness from a medium or deep peel may last several months.

In all cases, your skin will be more sun-sensitive post-treatment, and it is extremely important to wear sunscreen and sun protection. It is also recommended that you use fragrance-free products and avoid retinol, acids and downtime exercise.

Our professional peels are tailored to target different skin concerns and we will decide what is best for you at your pre-treatment consultation.

ZO professional peels are non-invasive skin procedures using medical-grade skincare products. The way these peels work is that the smaller molecules in the products can penetrate deeper into the skin than a typical facial, and you see the added benefits of this intense skin care therapy.

Deeper treatment means the skin can regenerate from further within. These treatments are called “peels” as they can remove the top surface of skin, revealing the revitalised skin underneath. Part of the ZO Treatment regimes, the Restorative Peel is a mandelic-based treatment which is ideal for sensitive, rosacea and acne-prone skin, leaving your face bright and glowing.

This 3-step peel is a highly effective medium strength peel recommended for targeting acne, hyperpigmentation, dull skin and large pores.

It’s a medical strength peel that combines 10% TCA (Trichloroacetic Acid), Salicylic Acid, Lactic acid and high-dose Retinol (6%) and is recommended for patients of any skin type who require a more potent skin peel with minimal downtime (3-5 days). This peel may be repeated 2-3 times annually or as required.

ZO® Skin Health products should be used approximately 12-18 weeks prior to this treatment and preconditioning of the skin is required.

This innovative Beta / Alpha Acid Peel stimulates cellular turnover, reducing fine lines and wrinkles and improving overall skin tone, texture and clarity without downtime.

If you have been considering a peel but feel a little nervous, then the Stimulator Peel is for you. This celebrity-loved treatment is a favourite before big events and is known as the ‘lunchtime peel’, because it takes just 30 minutes to achieve a glowing, rejuvenated complexion.

Glutathione is the ultimate antioxidant known to prevent damage to skin cells caused by free radicals and peroxides. As we age, our glutathione levels are depleted due to sun exposure, air pollutants and environmental stress.

The Perfect Peel is the only peel that premieres glutathione as a founding component and it works from the inside to repair and nourish the skin by giving it a radiant glow, refining pores, improving skin hyperpigmentation, lifting melasma, diminishing fine lines and wrinkles, eliminating acne and reducing scarring. Most importantly, the glutathione element ‘defies’ the aging process.

Glutathione penetrates deep into the cellular level of the skin to fight oxidant damage and is the anti-aging answer to premature wrinkling. Glutathione is proven to reverse the melanin’s metabolism turning dark pigmentations (eumelanin) into light pigmentation (phaeomelanin).

The Perfect Peel is considered a strong peel and is effective in delivering a vast improvement with just 1 treatment. The peel is not painful during application and entails a slight sting for the first 30-45 seconds.

You will experience peeling throughout days 3-6 and should be completely finished with the peel process by day 7.

Professional microneedling on its own is a brilliant aesthetic skincare treatment. Apart from helping to stimulate collagen and elastin to repair the skin’s surface, it can also improve the appearance of scars, pitting, dull skin, and sun damage. Microneedling also works well with a number of non-invasive procedures, one of which is a chemical peel.

Combining microneedling with our ZO Restorative Peel or ZO Stimulator Peel can help maximise the results, especially in refreshing the skin’s topmost layer and addressing specific skin concerns such as mild scarring, pigmentation, and fine lines around the eyes and mouth.

Give your skin a reboot with a replenishing light peel that will leave you radiant and glowing. Our Obagi Blue Peel Radiance treatment can reduce the appearance of acne and associated scarring, fine lines and wrinkles, and signs of sun damage.

It contains a unique blend of salicylic, glycolic and lactic acid to provide a gentle but effective peel, resulting in tighter, smoother, brighter-looking skin immediately after just one treatment.

This superficial chemical peel will exfoliate dead skin and unblock clogged pores and is a great choice for those who suffer with breakouts or acne. It can also help to reduce the appearance of scarring and is particularly effective in the treatment of pigmentation and photodamage, as well as being beneficial in addressing darker skin pigmentary changes. Obagi Blue Radiance is a full facial rejuvenation treatment without any downtime and a series of 4 – 6 peels provides the best overall results.

Cystic Acne

Cystic acne is an extensive breakout that causes redness deep underneath your skin. Cystic acne can linger for years on the skin and occurs when a pore gets clogged with dead skin cells and bacteria that enter the pore, causing the area to become inflamed. A chemical face peel is an effective treatment for cystic acne, as this rejuvenating skin treatment can thoroughly unclog and clean out pores.

Dry Skin

Chemical peels can effectively treat dry skin by removing dull, dead skin cells and promoting a new, more hydrated skin layer, with lactic acid and AHA peels being particularly beneficial. Lactic acid, an Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA), attracts moisture, while AHAs exfoliate and stimulate collagen for smoother, more youthful skin. After a peel, expect redness, dryness, and flaking, which are temporary side effects that are managed with gentle care, specific moisturisers, and sun protection.

Fine Lines

Chemical peels reduce fine lines by exfoliating damaged skin layers and stimulating collagen and elastin production, leading to smoother, firmer, and more youthful-looking skin. The effectiveness depends on the type of peel, with medium to deep peels being more effective for fine lines and wrinkles. Results improve skin texture and tone and increase radiance, and can last for months with proper aftercare.

Congestion

Chemical peels help with skin congestion by exfoliating dead skin cells and excess oil that clog pores, leading to clearer skin and fewer breakouts. While congestion can initially worsen, this is often a temporary "purging phase" where underlying impurities come to the surface. Peels containing salicylic acid are particularly effective for congested, oily skin, because they're oil-soluble and can deeply penetrate pores to clear blockages.

Before any skin treatment, a consultation is essential. This dedicated time allows for an in-depth conversation around your desired results, an assessment of your skin, and a tailored recommendation on the most suitable method for your skin type and lifestyle.

A skin scan is carried out to ensure we deeply analyse your complexion, and everything from maintenance to aftercare is discussed in detail. It’s a considered, personalised approach that ensures results are not only beautiful, but lasting.

We take a fully refundable deposit of £50 for all our consultations. Your deposit can be refunded in the clinic or redeemed against our treatments or products purchased after the consultation.
